McKeever and Niekamp Electric is currently a proud member of Brackett Builders' construction team. We are involved in the complete renovation of the 6 story Delco Building. The building is located directly adjacent to Fifth-Third Field, home of the Dayton Dragons. When complete, the new Delco Lofts Building will consist of 123 loft style apartments, Lock 27 Brewing Company, and two levels of parking. This historic building is also home of the original Charles Kettering office space. The renovation has been carefully designed to maintain the original exterior look of the building along with restoration of the sixth floor Kettering office.
McKeever & Niekamp Electric has been involved since the beginning of the project, starting with de-energizing and removal of existing electrical system and installation of a safe temporary electrical infrastructure throughout the building. The new install includes four 1,200 amp meter centers, one 1,600 amp main switchboard, and an 800 amp restaurant service. The life safety system includes a roof top mounted 150 KW natural gas generator, a 20 HP fire pump, and a new building wide Notifier Fire Alarm System. With the guidance and continued input of Prater Engineering the new installation will provide a safe reliable electrical system into the foreseeable future.
We are looking forward to opening this facility to the public for housing and entertainment in the summer of 2017. Special thanks to Crawford Hoying Development Partners, Woodard Development, Brackett Builders, along with the design team and many other contractors, that have made this renovation possible.
As a company, we take pride in putting together a team specifically for each project. The foreman, project managers and electricians on this project have been involved in similar projects throughout their careers, including the Water Street multi-family development last year. McKeever and Niekamp Electric understands that every job is different. By building a team with experience specific to that or similar projects, we are able to avoid common mistakes and provide a quality product.
